Not quite old enough to lay yet...and the wait is KILLING ME!!! The splash in the center of the pic is my son's favorite, and she's a hen. Yea!
Mine started at 4 months! I am so surprised, thought it'd be nearly a 6 month wait.

She looks like quite the talker
My banty pullet just laid her first egg yesterday, a cute little light creamy brown, so I guess she's not an OE. Her comb looks similar to our EE so I thought maybe a blue or green egg. I will have to get some more eggs from you in the spring. I'm hoping my silkies can hatch a few OE's for me (and hopefully some silkie chicks too if our cuckoo cockeral ever figures out his business).Id love to see more eggs from everyone in general if possible. Id love to see what everyone gets from their OE chickens and what is their favorite shade and what they are striving for when breeding forward.
My 2 OEs are 22weeks and 15weeks old so I still have some waiting to do.
Aw really. I just got a new egg the other day too from my chicks I hatched the same time as you. I don't know which pullet yet, it was either a Japanese Bantam or a bantam EE. I also got a tiny tan egg. Did any of the Large Fowl OEs hatch for you,? The LF OE were a cross of blue and green egg laying EEs and BCM. The bantams I wasn't expecting to be OEs I figured light green at best since the dad is a Japanese Bantam. My banty pullet just laid her first egg yesterday, a cute little light creamy brown, so I guess she's not an OE. Does she have a pea comb? Blue eggs shell genes are associated with the pea comb, but not linked. My banty pullet just laid her first egg yesterday, a cute little light creamy brown, so I guess she's not an OE. Her Bantam came from my eggs. It is from a silkie xEE hen that lays green eggs(she has a walnut comb) crossed with Japanese bantam rooster(single comb). I have 2 chicks of that cross both have single combs. Im not sure if they are laying yet they are the same age as AVintageLifes pullet.Does she have a pea comb? Congratulations on the Egg! Any color egg is great.
