ooh! I'm hatching some of Wynette's olive eggs right now, one hatched today and another is zipping. So that's what these chicks will be like?? yay!

Forgive the poor quality of the photo; had to scan an actual paper photo from 10 years ago. These eggs are from my first 2 chickens ever, and were supposed to be Araucanas. Of course, I didn't know any better back then, and didn't have the fine people here at BYC to set me straight. I bought the hens from a farm in Gardner, Kansas.I was SO disappointed when they didn't lay the beautiful, blue eggs I was expecting. But, oh, how I would love to still have these girls.

Very cool!!! and such a lovely combination of those great eggs, the plate and the tile in the back ground.
It's really peaceful.
