The Olive-Egger thread!

Hola Ron!

Will be candling either tonight or tomorrow night (hoping I can wait)! Crossing my fingers...
Yes, let me know!

I will be candling tonight too--Pita Pintas and a couple of OEs.

I had bought them as ameracuanas, but we know how that works! They're beautiful little girls!!! We also have 3 silver laced wyandottes as well as a black sex link to go with our 1 year old frizzle and olive egger.

Ah ok. so your daughter will have a brown egg layer then. The brown eggs that EE's sometimes lay aren't any different even if they are labeled as being different ie 'pink.'

My experience has been that alot of folks confuse the ear with the earlobe, I know I did when first starting out.
Yes!

Perfect point and thanks.

I have a single olive egger hen that is a cross between a BCM and EE. I believe she is an F2 due to her beautiful dark olive colored eggs. Does anyone know what would happen if I incubated her eggs as she is covered by a EE roo. I'm suspecting the offspring would lay olive eggs, just not sure how dark they would be. also, what would her offspring lay if she was covered by a BCM roo? Any advice?
