The Olive-Egger thread!

What color legs would these be considered on the above olive eggers? I'm trying to breed for white skin with these, so the phenotype appears like a Golden Cuckoo Marans with the pea comb. I'll be keeping the clean faced chicks, which I ended up with 6, and 4 muffed/bearded.

looks between yellow and white. I have a pullet that had legs that colour. she is about 9 months old now and her legs are almost white. I guess your chickens will have white legs as well in a while. I know nothing about genetics so I cannot tell you more.

Yellow genetics breeds will lose the yellow as they lay eggs. The yellow will come back during a molt. The same pigment that colors the egg yolk colors the legs.

I was just going to say this - this looks like the legs of my yellow-legged girls once they're deep into their laying season...

They are only 2 months old, and since the mothers are easter eggers, it's unknown what they might be carrying.

There is a thread specifically for Cream Legbar mixes or hybrids as some call them. Check it out, people have done many different crosses and posted many pics. The variation depending on the cross can be quite different. Do you know what breeds the chicks parents were? I have a legbar cross that is black barred and she is a pullet that lays blue eggs.

My rooster is a purebred French Black Copper Maran. Most of my blue egg layers are Easter Eggers (listed as Ameracuanas through McMurray, I think), but I have three Cream Legbar hens as well. Not sure who lays what, to be honest!!
