What color(s) are the Marans and Ameraucana? I'm not that great at this stuff, since I'm just starting out, but it looks like there might be a blue or black parent?
I'm soon to be crossing FBC Marans hens with a splash Ameraucana roo. Wondering how that will work out, so I'd love to hear what color your parent chickens are....
I'm pretty sure that they will all be blue. That would be great

Oh, I wasn't thinking and just assumed you hatched this one from your own eggs...oops! Maybe you'll get some info. from the lady that will give you some idea. Good luck with everything!
I wish! I'm in the city and I'm not allowed to have a rooster. Now that I've gotten into chickens, it makes me want to move to the country so I can breed my own chickens - what fun!

Yeah, we're having an attitude adjustment. He seems to think he can wing dance at me. The turd is ready to mate and none of the ladies will let him (my wellie roo Moose is the top dude) I'm hoping it's just his hormones and he'll settle down.
ETA: he was a very good boy today tending to my BCM (the same age as him) while she laid her first egg. It was really sweet.

So, did you cross & hatch him? I'm curious about what the parents are (breed & color). I'm about to set some eggs from my FBC Marans hens who are bred with a Splash Ameraucana. Not sure how they will turn out--do I see feathered legs on Ford? I'm curious if the leg feathering is maternal or paternal--anyone know? Or is it just a crapshoot?
