The Olive-Egger thread!

I would call that 'spearmint'.
Not quite plain 'green' ....not quite 'olive'.
Hi @aart is it possible for egg color to change? Having asked that, I do know that Marans eggs are darker at the start of the season. My little crested redhead has now laid 2 blue eggs... in the photo her egg from 3 days ago is on the left, and on the right is the egg that she laid today... I know she laid it because of the camera in the coop!

Im gonna take some pics in a few but just wanted to add:
  • No beard
  • No muffs
  • Legs are bare
  • No tuft
  • Father is a FBCM
  • Mother is a blue egg layer

Looks pretty Marans-ish...can't see what kind of comb.
If pea-combed probably crossed with an EE.
The person you got them from did not say what kind of 'blue egg layer'?

She has a single comb.
No he did not but the only blue egg layers he had there were EE.

If she had EE in her wounding she have a beard and muffs?...

And the Marans in her...feathered legs are dominant.....?

Beard, muffs, and pea combs don't always carry thru...either do feathered legs.
Only time will tell if the blue shell gene carried thru.
