The Olive-Egger thread!

The lighter green is pure Ameraucana... the olive green is from a girl hatched from a BCM egg... she is black with minimal coppering, has feathered legs, and a pea comb... so papa obviously was an EE/Ameraucana. It is the prettiest moss green I have seen, and I am loving the different colors from the different mixes.

Your roo has a comb that occurs when you have one gene for single comb and one gene for pea.It doesen't really matter how you describe it that is what you get whith pea/single cross.Pea is an incomplete dominate and that is why the center blade is tall. Jerry

Thanks for the close-up pics! Yes, that's so funny - he DOES almost look like he's got a Buttercup type comb! Interesting! I'm surprised he doens't have more of a beard/muffs...seems like most of mine do. So interesting what you can (and don't!) get in these types of crosses!

Here's the girl... she was not happy with me, and giving me the shtink-eye...

You can't really see any color in the photo... but she has a beautiful beetle-green sheen.

The flash washed her out.

Hi all !! I'am new chicken per say!! I have not rasied any of my own. I have bought chickes from ideal and now that I know more I have been buyinh from breeders.
I really want to hatch my some eggs in a bator. I'am looking for some nice colored egg layers. So with that is there any one that would like to sale me some great color eggs to hatch? I love all the photos and I'am learning alot .Thank you all!!!
