The Partridge Wyandotte Thread

Tina has gone broody.....been over a month now. I kick her outa the nesting box whenever I walk by but she is stuborn about it. She had been a good little layer but since she started sitting her comb and wattles have revereted from bright red back to pink. Definatly hormonal. Hope she comes out of it soon.....if not she's going to need her own nesting box.

Do you have another place away from the rest of the birds you can put her for a couple days or can you remove the nest box? I remove mine for a week when one goes broody.

Let me know if you want some eggs to hatch :) Sounds like you have a good incubator.

Nope. .. she's got it bad. If I lock her out of the coop she'll gather rocks and nests on the ground. Either way the other 2 have to crawl in with her to lay or lay on the coop floor. I thought about eggs but not this late in the season. .. maybe next spring. .. and I would have to find a good home for them.
For now I'm just going to get another box and let her brood. :)

Tina is no longer broody! Been running with the other girls now for two days straight. The first night she got into a nesting box so I pulled her out and she looked at me, then went over and jumped on the roost. :)
