Well my sweet, beautiful, Esmeralda is egg bound :hit This morning I gave her some crushed hard boiled eggs soaked in olive oil, which she did manage to eat. I gave her an epsom salt bath this afternoon, and again this evening. I gave her 250mg of calcium around noon, and another 250mg after the evening soak. I put some olive oil around her vent and a little within it.

She is drinking water, and slightly eating, but mostly just sleeping or walking extremely slowly. She isn't looking as bad as some pics I've seen. I have her in the house now, in a brooder w food, water, calcium, covered w a towel to keep things dark for her. She is on her mini roost and sleeping. Hopefully the calcium kicks in and the 2 soaks make some sort of difference for her. Not much else that I think I can try... I'll give her nutridrench in the morning. So bummed out about this. She has had a couple yellow watery poops after her soaks, but thats about it. Hopefully there is a big poop pile by morning.

So sorry to read this! I know this is difficult. Sounds like you’re doing everything you can for her. You’ll just have to wait it out. Please update in the morning how she is doing!:hugs❤️❤️❤️

Thank you. Yea, I was figuring I have tried everything that's been listed anywhere. Yesterday she seemed to be in her laying spot (she likes to lay in the corner of the run), in fact I was standing there waiting, because the egg usually just pops out. Then kept checking throughout the day, nothing. So when I didn't find an egg this morning, plus her sudden change in behavior.. I figured she was egg bound. She was super messy when I picked her up this morning, but the vent has stayed very clean since her first soak, and I watched a couple very small poops come out. I don't think there's an egg near the vent though, so it must be up there somewhere. I am glad she is roosted and resting, at least she isn't just on the floor. I'll definitely update in the morning.

Just checked on Esmeralda, since she's been asleep for about 90 minutes. There is some poop passing, albeit runny, but at least somethings moving. Just brown and watery, which sounds better than the yellow. While she is breathing, her tail moves up and down with her breath, but she is sleeping fine. Hopefully this is a good sign. I'll leave her be for the rest of the night.

Have you tried massaging the area to get the egg to pass?

Ok.. she seemed super bored, so i put her back outside with the others.. she had one smaller cecal poop that looked normal when she got in the run. She's poking at the chicks heads, so im going with shes feeling better.

Anddddd.. Elsa started attacking her. So Elsa is now inside the brooder in the house for her chicken jail sentense today.
