It will be dropping to the high 50s this coming week.. 40s at night. I guarantee my chickens wont come out of the coop at all, and mama will have the heat on

Getting my first polish chickens soon,
Do they need heat? Everything I've read says they're not cold hardy and may need heat, It gets to -22 in Fahrenheit where I live

I got them, and they're not showing any signs of being cold,
well, it'll get colder soon, but for now, they're completely fine! They're very social too, a hen walked up to me and let me pet her! I read that the polish was friendly but not this friendly! My other flock would never

We don’t get below 32 degrees here and most of the time we aren’t below 40 :-D I lived in temps like yours and I don’t know how much I miss that kind of cold

I have a trio right now of bantams, and a sibling pair of mixes.

I'll probably cull the trio rooster though. He's so aggressive with the hens, he almost killed one before being separated.

The polish mix boy is named Chuckles (he's in the back)

REALLY SUPER FREAKING cold lol. We get regular -14F here in Utah, with crappy timing. Not fun snowy bitter cold, just grey yuck bitter in Jan/Feb when you’re totally done with winter and it seems to drag on forever

This is one of the coldest 'winters' we've had yet
BUT WE STILL DON'T HAVE SNOW


Also do you think november is fall or winter... everyone here says winter but it's technically fall right????
