Omgomgomg they are so cuteI have 9 babies now. One was a Failure to Thrive. It was so very tiny and I don't think it recovered from the mail. I have a Golden Lace that has been struggling. I hope it makes it but, I can't tell yet. All the others are running, jumping onto Mama like crazy!! They are so cute t h at I can waste the day away watching them. Lol
Here's an updated picture. Becky, the Silver Lace has done an awesome job all week.
Yes, it is. Now, I'm down to 8.Omgomgomg they are so cute
Sorry about that tiny one. But hey, 9 chicks is quite a lot of polish!
That is Correct. Plus, it's her first Broodiness. She went once before a month ago and I broke it but, it took me 3 days. Now, she is proven. She is doing an awesome job. Today, she came flying out of the coop into the run. I wondered why? Then, I saw a squirrel. She took off and ran it off. It couldn't get out fast enough. Then she was Squawking like a Mad Mama!!! LolAww, cute! Polish aren't known for being good broodies/moms, right? This is adorable! So glad she's doing a good job.![]()
If it makes you feel any better, since she was under mama, it's likely she just fell asleep and passed. When I have a weak one with a good mama, I leave it and let nature happens. That's almost always where I find them after they pass.Yes, it is. Now, I'm down to 8.
I just came in from the coop and when I did a head count, I was at eight. So, I reached under Becky and pulled out another dead one. The one I was suspecting, a Golden Lace. It's weird because it's crop was full but, Im pretty sure it got Pecked by Becky in the beginning a little too hard in the head. Because the next day it was fluffed up and always staying under her. It felt like this one had a "V" crown so, I'm not surprised now since I'm was pretty sure it was the one that she pecked at last week when I introduced all of them. But, this stuff happens and so far, I'm fortunate that Becky accepted them. I don't notice any more weak ones. Everyone is pretty Fiesty doing their peeps stuff.
Thank you. Thats what I had hoped happened tonight. At least it was exactly where it liked to be.If it makes you feel any better, since she was under mama, it's likely she just fell asleep and passed.
