They are so adorable. Here are my 2. Last I posted, I had a BR mix, but it didn't make it. View attachment 2710795
Just wondering why?Might be controversial, but I will never trim their crests.
I feel if you don't want a polish to have a crest, you shouldn't get a polish. It's my job to keep them somewhere safe where the crest won't cause problems, and I fulfill that.Just wondering why?
My frizzle polish wouldn't be able to see properly if I didn't and I think that would be cruel of me. Plus her feathers poke into her eyes. She also has a beard and muffs so full face fluff!
My smooth feathered polish don't need any sort of trim. Nice neat pom pom.
Interesting. I figure that humans have bred them to have faults. Like dachshunds, or pugs. So we should mitigate the hardship caused by the fault iyswim. Polish of 100 years ago didn't have a debilitating sized crest. We've bred it into them bigger.I feel if you don't want a polish to have a crest, you shouldn't get a polish. But I know other people here love theirnpolish and trim feathers and I won't berate them for it
I felt the same when I first got the Crested breed. But, when they run into things, can't find their food and scare easily I had to get the scissors out. Afterwards, I feel like I liberated them again.I feel if you don't want a polish to have a crest, you shouldn't get a polish.
