The Pet Pigeon Thread

I heard that trained homers can evade hawks? This is true as long as it is a quality bird once they become adults (even then you can expect the occasional loss due to inattentiveness especially if you have peregrine falcons).

I do have a completely enclosed walk-in run for the chickens. Chickens and pigeons are a bad mix I would advise against it. I just don't know if they need to free fly (is the best option or they'd be happy with an enclosed run dedicated to them alone). Are there any particular breeds recommended for my situation? When it comes to pigeons if it is not a homer or a racer in my opinion anything else is just something to make you wish it was. Other ornamental, show, rollers, or utility breeds would be easy prey for hawks.
