Hello! I stumbled upon Pita Pintas on the GFF FB page, and fell in love! I won an auction for 10 eggs, they sent 12, but one was cracked, so 11 went into the incubator on Wednesday. They had a pretty long travel from FL to WI so I am hoping I end up with a decent hatch. Beautiful birds everyone!

I’m part of the April Hatch a long. My eggs will hatch 3 days after Easter, so that’s why I didn’t join. But maybe I’ll head over there too because the regular April hatch a long is pretty quiet, I’m assuming because the party is over at the Easter one!

I’ve been watching the auctions for months. They usually get in the $70 range plus shipping. I lucked out, and won one for only $28 and $15 for shipping. I guess patients pays off sometimes!

They are doing well so far. They don’t eat near as much as the Bielefelders.

Mine don’t eat as much as my Langshan!

The Bielefelders are very fatty. I’m going to butcher one of the Bresse roosters, same age as the one Bielefelders I did today, just for comparison. I’m thinking I’m not keeping the Bielefelders , too much feed and I don’t need fat but meat.

How’s the Pita Pintas when it comes to excess fat.
