I might have a couple available.  I have 3 cockerels and 3 pullets that are around 11 weeks old.  I also have a trio of older ones that are at POL.  I don't ship birds, though.  Are you planning on coming to the poultry show in Modesto?

When/where is it? I'm sure I could stop by and pick up some birds ;) how much would you charge for a trio?

The poultry show is in Modesto at the community college campus on Jan 31. I'll PM you with prices.

They are very pretty!

Their considerable beauty is all thanks to your considerable breeding expertise! I am getting an egg a day now, often two.

On the topic of birds, btw -- to everyone on this thread -- I am reading a wonderful book called The Goshawk that is about training a hawk, by T.H. White, who wrote the Arthurian tetralogy The Once and Future King. I think anyone who lives with birds will find the book really beautiful and fascinating, and I highly recommend it. It's exquisitely written and by someone who clearly really loved birds and all animals. I think you guys would especially appreciate it.

Just wanted to share a lovely pita pinta moment -- as I told Ron today, my parents were here for a visit, and they have never been near chickens and are sometimes a bit nervous around animals. But Odette and Odile were such darling hostesses that my mom and dad were completely won over. The ladies stood at their feet, talked softly to them, very gently pecked my parents' hands when they held them out, followed them around, and allowed themselves to be petted, even though these were people they'd never seen before. Then they took an extravagant dustbath, tossing sand everywhere, which everyone thought was so funny. It was a great introduction to chickens, thanks to the girls' sociability and sweetness.

We are loving the sweet pullets we got from @PetRock . They are so calm and friendly! They even let my 3 year old pick them up and carry them around. They are so nice though, I am starting to worry that they will get picked on when I mix them with my other chickens. Has anyone had trouble integrating them with other breeds?

I like them so much though, I might end up having to rehome any hen that picks on them. :)
