Ethan looked out the broken window at the sound of footsteps. Is it another one of... Them? His mind, tired of being alert all night, thought wildly. It had been making up it's own dangers in the eerie quietness. Upon closer inspection of the source, he saw it was a girl, with a bow and a quiver of wicked-looking arrows. He silently picked up the bloody crowbar he had used previously against the Zen. He knew he had to scavenge for more food soon, and he needed water. After the infection, the plumbing in all of the houses went off. Not that I ever lived in a house recently, he thought bitterly. Unlike other people, Ethan actually hoped his father was infected. He was a b**** to him and he had the scars to prove it. He watched the girl curiously, thinking about how she looked like she knew what she was doing. He decided to follow her, and slipped out of the ruined building into the alley, making sure not to be seen.
