Had to look this one up. Just for reference, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuroiler -- "The Kuroiler is a hybrid breed of chicken developed in India. Kuroilers are derived from crossing either coloured broiler males with Rhode Island Red females, or, White Leghorn males crossed with female Rhode Island Reds. Kuroilers, a dual-purpose breed producing meat and eggs, can live on a diet of kitchen and agricultural waste, and produce around 150 eggs per year whereas native Indian hens lay only 40 per year. The meat yield per bird of Kuroilers is also greater; males weigh approximately 3.5 kg and females about 2.5 kg whereas the native male bird weighs 1.0 kg and females 0.9 kg."

I am in Eustis area in central fl. I am looking for a breeder in fl that breeds heritage barred rocks , not hatchery stock. I am wanting to help preserve the breed. if anyone could point me In the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Here are a few pictures I took today of my Horstman line pair of Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks. I haven't posted many pictures of my Horstman line pullets lately as they are always in the nest box :). Next month I do plan to start hatching eggs out of my Horstman line breeding pen so I hope they keep laying as well then as they are now. I also plan to add a couple Padgett line pullets into the Horstman line breeding pen later this year to experiment with a cross between the two lines. :)

Check with Brookhaven on BYC. Not sure what part of FL she is in (Brookshaven area I think but I don't know what PART of FL that is) She has some nice birds and sells eggs and maybe started birds. I don't know of anyone else in that area right now.....

Check with cpartist(Luanne) too, she is in Alachua, Fl. she can get you fixed up, I'm sure if she doesn't have it she will know who does for sure.

It might prove quite hard to locate mature birds at this of year, as most breeders only kept their breed stock last fall and now, the birds are in breeding pens. You might locate either eggs or chicks, depending on what the breeder prefers. It's the weekend and there's some kinda football game on today. I don't know.

Chicks or eggs would be fine.I know this is breeding time for most people. I will be missing this game as I work at 1 a.m :( People need their bread early.

I contacted them and everyone here is great help.
