Gotta love it. When they are determined to hatch some they always find a way. I was pulling and hatching eggs like crazy for one of my projects and one decided to hatch her own in the crawlspace of the breeding pen. Hopefully with two mommas watching over she will be fine.So I went out to work on my outdoor brooder, which is next to my RB/HRIR breeding pen. I kept hearing peeping but I knew I had been pulling eggs from them. They both stopped laying and were just brooding hay, or so I thought. They must have had an egg hidden under the hay because sure enough they have a little baby chick in there. There is only 1 and both hens are trying to mother it. If it's not one thing it's something else, lol. I have 4 out of 6 of my HRIR broody right now. Good thing I don't need any eggs to hatch right now or I'd be in trouble.
