These guys have matured nicely- this is my GFF breeding pen- 3 hens, 1 roo (please excuse my roo's poor comb- he got frostbite this winter and a lot of it fell off.

This Rooster is Too light, as light as the Hambars,

He stays outside all day long- our backup roo that stays in the shade is not quite as washed out as he is.

I like the female's color, while it lack RIR type and size, Now how old is that Male? looks tiny on the pic.. and shows black breast

They are both very young, the hen just started laying about 3 weeks ago. She's been laying pretty well and I'm looking at these as a utility strain more than for show. I know that might not be a popular position on this thread, but I don't have the time or space to make improvements to the Rhodebars. I'm glad others do and I hope to buy some really good stock from some of you in a year or 2. One of my reasons for lurking here is to see who is leading the efforts to make them better, so I know who to buy from

They are pretty and unusual and I'm enjoying having them.
