The Rhodesian Ridgebacks struck again!

I did sue them and won. I collected over $1000 for my dead chickens. The husband was also found guilty in a court of law and had to pay fines. He has more money than brains. Some people are beyond learning. These are the people that were stupid enough to present the judge (in the civil case) a picture of one of the dogs sitting with a toy chicken to prove that it wouldn't hurt a chicken. They were also so stupid that they told the judge that I was just getting back at them because they stole my cat years ago. BTW, after 5 months, my cat escaped and came home. I never knew where he had been until that day in court.

With all due respect, you need to read horsejody’s whole story. No one loves animals more than I do. However, these animals are dangerous. They have killed and maimed before. The courts and the public were warned and given the evidence by Jody and this was ignored. Everything was documented.

Why take chances on retraining these animals and having someone look the other way for five minutes and maybe have a child be mauled or killed. Do you need graphic pictures to get the point?

I myself have sewed up animals that have been torn apart by “good dawgs'. These good dogs are people mistakes and yes, they have to suffer for the people’s mistakes. How do you retrain “people”? Just because you can “breed” dogs doesn’t mean you know how to handle or train them.

I am sorry, I am mad.

Tried that. AKC only cares that the dogs are purebred and that they get their fees. Remember, they don't even shut down puppy mills because they are their bread and butter.

Oh...that sucks....I have an AKC dog....but I had no idea if it would help or not. I know when I reported a Peruvian Paso breeder to the breed registry for severe neglect, the registry actually stepped up and stopped allowing horses from this person to be registered...

HorseJody,

I know it doesn't help you at all, but I had to laugh when I read the moronic things your neighbors said in court. Wow.

It sure makes my neighbors seem like saints.

I can't believe those owners are so stupid!

Those dogs need to be euthanized, and those people shouldn't be allowed to own anymore dogs! Not even a 5 pound ankle biter!

Easy easy nathowe and Boyd. I have an "aggressive breed" and they don't harm anyone. Lots of people on this board own lots of different breeds so lets not go slapping at any particular breed, OK?

I have, however, suggested a $500/dog/year licensing fee for various dog breeds in Houston. Everybody seems to prefer to totally outlaw them.

That being said, there is no place in society for any aggressive individual dog, and if they are proven aggressive they should be put down.

My dogs have been attacked, while I had them on leash, by labs, rottweilers, GSDs, mixes and most recently by a cocker spaniel! I do not advocate that these breeds should be eradicated or annihilated, but aggressive individuals should be put down. Do I think the dogs that attacked us were aggressive enough to be put down? No, they were just uncontrolled and we happened along. Yes it was really scary and upsetting, but no extreme harm was done.

I rescued a large dog from the side of the road and had it on leash in my front yard. One of my dogs barked from out of sight in the backyard and this big dog dragged me around the side of the house and seriously tried to get into my backyard and get to my dogs. It was chewing on the fence. I put it down.

The Ridgebacks should be put down and the owner charged.
