Are all those falls around your area? That's awesome! It looks like a really green place!
thumbsup.gif
I couldn't imagine a life filled with concrete. Every city I've lived in has had at least some parks and things before....

Salmon!
droolin.gif
We don't eat salmon a lot because it's so darn expensive and bony, but the stuff is divine.
Spock should grill some salmon for us stead'a steak next time!
lol.png

Do you go mountain climbing much round there? Some of those pictures look pretty hilly
tongue.png

Yep! They're actually across the river, but that's still pretty close. The whole climate's the same, and it's green year round because of all the rain, making summers BEAUTIFUL.
tongue.png
I couldn't imagine a life inside of a concrete jungle either; I've never lived or wanted to live like that.

Here it isn't extremely expensive because they're practically everywhere, but they can be. They're probably expensive where you're at because they ship it from here or something; it's the # 1 salmon producing place. Same thing goes for blackberries and apples.

You can! Mt. Hood is one of the most commonly climbed mountains...Unfortunatley there are a lot of stories about people getting lost up there during the winter because it gets so darn snowy.
hmm.png
But if you climb it during the summer it isn't that snowy and you can literally see for miles on end. You can see a mountain all the way from California, about 600 miles away.

Do you get ferries across? I love taking ferries. Reminds me of the times we used to cross the English channel to go on holidays in mainland Europe: so exciting when I was younger!

I think we get Atlantic salmon. Not quite as far away, but still a long way
lol.png
It's about $25 a kilo on special, so one can only imagine what it's like normally or in a bad season!
Do you fish yourself?

I'd actually be scared to climb a mountain in the snow or rain, if there weren't a clear path and regular check-in stations on the way up
tongue.png
I love being all the way up there though, it would be so cool to be able to see that far!
big_smile.png
There's a mountain here you can kinda see the sea from the top of. It's awesome...

Kinda the reason I want to learn to fly, actually

Not at our part of the river. We have plenty of bridges, though. There are a bunch of marinas, barges, sail boats, and other little doo-hickeys too.
tongue.png

Depending on how they ship it, it could be closer or further. Like if they fly west from the Atlantic and over the Pacific, I assume it'd be longer. If they took it directly from the west, it'd be shorter. But who knows?
tongue.png

I fish occasionally. We have a bunch of trout, stergeon, perch, and bass here too.

When it's a sunny day and you climb it, it's a lot nicer. And usually warmer.

Have you ever seen a show called World's Deadliest Roads? it's epic. You should see some of the bridges they have to cross there!
th.gif

I personally don't like boats unless they go very fast. We went sailing on camp the other year... it was epic when the wind picked up and we started really winging it out there.

I'd think flying it the other way would be a lot easier!
lol.png
Nowhere to stop if you run out of fuel in the middle of the Pacific! :hmm
Yeah, who knows. Perhaps one day I'll start a salmon fishing company.

You know what I loved eating? Herring. Herring was amazing!
old.gif
Trout was pretty cool too though, less bones.

And you can see further

Yeah I have! It's really creepy. :hmm

I love all boats, pretty much. There's a speed boat in the big city here that does some pretty cool tours.

lol.png
That's another reason why I'm scared of airplanes. But then for some reason I want to become an air traffic controller...

Herring is so cool. It's a weird Swedish thing in my family to like it. My Grandad liked it in a bagel with cream cheese and orange marmalade. :hmm Don't ask, it's a weird, gross Swedish thing to love sweet and savory meals.

I actually kinda like it in a weird, terrified way. It's an awesome show!

Oh, I love speedboats so much. I don't get the chance to go on them very often at all... but I have never forgotten the time when I was on holiday in Fuerteventura: and we got on the speedboat to go out snorkelling around a reef. Those waves were enormous!!! I had the time of my life sitting up front with one of my best friends (a guy :hmm) and flying over those whoppers.

Air traffic control is awesome. You heard of liveatc.net? I listen to the stuff a lot more nowadays than I used to. It's addictive like BYC
lol.png
Sydney is good, as are JFK and DFW, but those are harder to catch during rush hour with the time differences.

Cream cheese goes well with a lot of really weird things, I've found
lol.png

You're Swedish? That's awesome. I wish I could be a cool nationality like that!

Me too.

Hah, you should see the Oregon coast's waves. They're flippin' giant; on a good day they can get up to 6 and a half feet or taller.

That sounds really cool. If I were to become an air traffic control person I'd go for either PDX (Portland International Airport, which is very close and awesome) or SFO (San Francisco International Airport, which was where I used to live nearby and it was really cool).

Yup.
lol.png

It's interesting.

Highway Patrol is also really, really funny. Some of the things drivers get up to, acting like they've been caught smuggling drugs into Australia when they get a speeding ticket!

Sounds awesome. There's a certain threshold between awesome waves and scary waves. I think that may just be over the line
lol.png

Yeah, liveatc rules!! >: ) You get to know the controllers. It's so funny! You log on, and can go, oh that's so-and-so! They all have such distinctive voices.
lol.png
A few get fired from time to time, that's sad, some retire. It's like keeping up with random strangers' lives
lol.png

I don't know if I could handle being in ATC. I play a game on kongregate called Radar Air Traffic Controller and it's absollutely terrifying!

Herring just rulez too.

Yeah. They can get pretty wild.

That's really cool.
I've played a simulator for air traffic control and I was pretty good at it. And the thing is, it isn't like you're working alone in real life.
