WAIT! HOLD THE PHONE! Is it that animal you were talking about on the PM? That you wouldnt tell me?

True to the feelings in his heart, Icestar met the pretty young pullet again. She was wandering out in the fields alone, while the other chickens seemed to be looking for someone, calling their name... The heavens had opened, and bright flashes of something unknown to Icestar slashed across the night sky. Soon, he was drenched and so was she, so much so that they hardly recognised each other.

But when they did, they burst into laughter at the absurdity of the situation.
'Come here, honey,' Icestar said, holding out his wing for Delta to shelter under. 'The conditions out are pretty horrific tonight. But I have to say, you look particularly beautiful soaked to the bone!'
Delta laughed at him and huddled against his warm wing feathers. The others had no idea where she was, they assumed she was searching for Tysontoe too.

'Maybe it should stay this way,' Delta told Icestar. 'Maybe it'll be safer for you, if nobody knows you're here.'
'Then how will I see you?'
'Oh, I am pretty good at building any sort of reputation I want, I can make my image into some kind of shy, grumpy, withdrawn hen and then it won't be weird to them if I sneak out regularly.'
Icestar smiled. 'You'd do that for me?'
'Yes, I would,' Delta looked into his eyes. 'So, tell me about your life up north. What was it like?'

Icestar thought about it. 'We learned how to fight, that's for sure. You couldn't live there without learning how to persevere, to ignore the pain. We shared something very strong. A bond that brought us through it all. When there's nobody else to trust or believe in... you learn to lay all your hopes on the ones who've stayed with you on your journey. That's something you can't deny... or lose, for that matter.'
'Oh... I'm very sorry about...'
'That's okay,' Icestar said quietly. 'Sometimes it's better to move on and strive after something new after you've managed to build an empire out of a few stones and a dollar coin.'

Delta nodded, then bid her farewells to Icestar, knowing the others would be suspicious if she didn't get back. 'I'll meet you here again someday, when I have the chance. This exact spot.'

And Icestar vowed he would never leave that position. He'd keep his feet firmly planted until she returned.
