Yeah, normally with something like this i would use salt water or hydrogen peroxide, but it seems that won't work in this occasion.

Do they get sick often?

Keep in mind though that I used that method for an itty bitty quail; you're probably going to have to make A LOT of the solution and let it sit on the duck's foot for a good long while before washing it off. I hope that your ducks don't mind being held.

No, we actually have never had any probs in the many years we've had them, but we must always be prepared. They aren't like chickens at all, 1) The are worth a whole lot more

and they are more like the family dogs kinda

2) We have no vet in the area that will take them readily.

Oh, Crazy; for future reference, do not use Hydrogen Peroxide for open wounds. Peroxide stings the wound, causing discomfort for the bird, and it also eats away not only the bad bacteria but damages tissue and eats away the good bacteria as well, which happens to be the bacteria that the bird needs to properly heal.

i'm going to have to find a way if doing multiple birds at the same time, i cannot spend 195 minutes every day holding ducks for the cream to sink in.
