The waves violently threw themselves at the shoreline, dragging grains of white sand back into the sea with their strength. Dark, green clouds swirled slowly in the sky, adding moisture to the air and sending an eerie green glow into the water. Amouris sucked in a deep breath, darting out of range. He looked to the sky, watching fat drops of rain enter the water, causing the surface to look rippled and torn from his underwater angle. Saying a silent prayer, he swam furiously toward his family, watching his band members fight the great slaves that Ares controlled. He began to call out to them, despair taking hold of him. He knew the end was coming, and he was determined to tell them he loved them, to tell them he regretted bringing them into this, for disagreeing with that stallion ever. Ares's dark magic must have been doing something, for this wasn't going the way it was supposed to. Amouris's thoughts were interrupted by a great rumble. All heads turned toward the source of the noise instinctively, uneasy nickers spreading through the now still crowd. Suddenly, chunks of rocks came barreling away from the mountain they were on, pummeling into the Hippocampi. Whinnies of agony spread through the water, along with the thick, sickly smell of blood as it slithered through the water, its scent overpowering. Amouris shielded his eyes with a fin, whinnying a strong warning to his band. Once the boulders stopped rocketing across the water into the battlefield, Amouris cautiously opened his eyes to a sight he wished he'd never see. There, emerging from the heart of the explosion, was a kraken. Not any octopus-sized kraken, but a humongous, overpowering demon. His eyes were a blood red, his pupils large, black slits. He raised his giant tentacles above his head, revealing a round mouth, completely filled with layers of razor sharp teeth. He roared in fury, reaching his long tentacles toward the band. In one, he grabbed Amouris around his stomach. Soon, each of his tentacles held several Hippocampi, all whinnying furiously. They pounded and bit him with greater force than ever, but nothing was enough to penetrate his leathery skin. Amouris whinnied his farewell to his loved ones, accepting the fact he would never swim here in leisure again. "Farewell." He nodded toward Ares respectfully. "You do put up a legendary fight." Within seconds, anyone in the beast's grip was gone forever, only their horrors left to dwell in this cove.
What? I had to end Amouris for now.
I know it's terrible, but it's a rough draft.
Very rough.
