The rooster is in

How is your mare? Loss of an animal's life is always a terrible thing.... I have lost a foal, I know what you are going through, what you are feeling........ I am hoping so badly that your mare is recovering.

Nice looking place. Your much more experienced in chicken raising than I am. I have had chickens but just getting started again after several years of an empty coop. Sorry about your mare and loss of colt. They guy who leases our property has a mare who has slipped a few she successfully carried a beautiful paint mule colt and is about 4 weeks. We all celebrated! Hope your mare pulls through and you find the chicken fizz your looking for!

Live in South Dakota and the temps have been very cold from 17 degrees to 40. We've been gathering the eggs to start setting in the incubator! But I hope the cold weather doesnt affect the fertility of the eggs! Any insite anyone? Where is spring!!!!

Brinsea has a nice article on temperature effects on hatching eggs, basically if they get under 28.4* there is a good chance of problems http://www.brinsea.com/customerservice/poweroff.html don't know where spring is, it has been missing around here also, hope it hurries up and shows up!
You might want to check the Geese forum or do a search on the breed for the geese you are looking for and PM members with them.
