Anyone know what it means (if it means anything) when roosters stretch out their wings and flap them when I walk near them? Happens all of the time. Even a few of my hens do that, too.

I know when a dominate bird I am carrying hover over the lower ones as I walk by they flap their wings and somewhat shrink their necks. I also notice when my dominant rooster walks by my sub roo,he flaps his wings and leaves the area, or gets ran off. If it is competitive clapping sound, probably what's to challenge you, or has the idea in mind. I notice sometimes my rooster will flap his wings when I'm in area, not sure if it is him showing submission, or what, never has tried challenging me ever.
