The SBEL thread

I want to make a SBEL thread so I can get more info about them, and see some photos. If you have any please post them. I will be making some as soon as my chicks get to breeding age and I will posting the photos here.

Wow those look fantastic. Have you noticed if the eggs are larger or bluer?

Notice the cockerels in the first pic have white legs. I can sex these at 2 or 3 weeks by leg color. The pullets have slate legs and the cockerels have white.

So they might have sexlink traits

These are F2s. The SBEL hen bred back to the Lavender rooster. Doing this I'll get 25% Lavender, 25% Black & 50% White chicks. I only have one Lavender chick so far. I'm only keeping the Lavenders and breeding them back to White Leghorn and so on.

Mine do. The males also have a little barring in their black spots. But by the time you see it, you can already tell the sex by the leg color.

These eggs weigh about 55g. They are bluer than I thought they would be with the F1 hens.
