4 days old and look at all the feathers, this is about what 3 of the 4 look like.
This is number 4, wing feathers are twice the others, only one with tail feathers and look at the little brown hairs around the back of the neck...., I think it's a him
,
Mine must be pretty darn cute cause they did their little chickie love dance on my sweet hubby and he went out and bought a bunch of new lumber to build a really nice big "real" coop
!!! He's afraid the one I built is way too small and not safe enough
You just gotta loveeeeee the guy
Those little chickies
are something when they do their love dance and cast their love spell on you
I think I need to let my chickies do the love dance on my hubby. I could use another chicken house
But he did take me to Costco today to buy a 10 x 10 x 6 dog kennel to use as a grow out pen for all my roosters, so I am real happy right now with new chicks, eggs incubating in the inubator and more room for my chickens
Here are some pictures of my chicks that I took today at 4 days old. The larger splash chick (yellow) is a rooster for sure! He already attacks my hand to protect the others. Two little ones appear to be pullets and the larger dark one I'm not sure on yet.
Chickee your chicks are beautiful and so lucky to have 2xblue and 2x splash...they will be awesome birds
Melissa your babies are awesome...love the puffy checks and Bebe is definitely a splash and gorgeous to boot! My big splash looks just like her except it's a he!...they are beautiful...it's too cold here to take them outside as we are having a tropical cold front in GA and temps are in the 60-70s during the day! Hopefully I can get them outside for some pics on the weekend!
I am thoroughly cleaning out my coops and scrubbing everything down as I am on the 'chicken coop tour' of Atlanta on two weeks....gotta get my girls in tip top shape and sparkling! Baths for everyone!
Here is my little guy I saved from being shrink wrapped...a little smaller than the others but just as fisty...and I discovered that one baby has cross-beak!!! didn't even notice till just today..
I can't beleive my (and some of yours) chicks turned a week old yesterday! Yikes, how time flies. Here's a couple more pics of my NJs taken a couple of days ago. They have a few more feathers now...
Today I loaded up the bator with 28 more eggs
