Ok so you know how I was worried about getting some silkie hatching eggs so soon (or at all) well I posted on our city chicken website about going to the farm to get the eggs ect and ask if anyone wanted anything...well I now have one person coming with me...one asked me to pick up some youngsters for her and one asked me to get double the amount of eggs and hatch them for her and she will buy the babies off me!!! How much fun is that!!! Getting to hatch lots of babies already knowing they are spoken for but getting the fun of hatching them first!

I am going to incubate some eggs for a friend in the near future because I have an incubator that gives me better hatches and the eggs she is going to buy are BCM eggs that are $100 for 6 eggs!

Hello everyone! Really enjoying watching all the chicks grow! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My son was in the hospital with viral meningitis. He is doing lots better now.

I can't stop thinking about hatching more chicks... shhh don't tell my DH.

Chickee, I am thinking about Ameraucanas. Do you selling eggs or who do you recommend?

Here are a few of mine chicks that I kept from our 8/12 hatch:
Not sure the color of this silkie? Buff maybe?

Your chicks are SO cute! I have wanted a black silkie ever since I went to another BYC members house and saw hers!

All of my Ameraucanas are young and haven't started laying yet. Hoping that they will any day now! I would check out Pips & Peeps website. She offers all of the colors. I have a buff and a wheaten rooster from her, Buffs from Wayne Meredith, lavenders from Harry Shaffer and Blue Wheaten from Paul Smith. The lavenders are the friendliest but the wheaten/blue wheaten and blacks have the best egg color. Paul Smith does not sell hatching eggs, just chicks, but Jeremy sells Wheaten/Blue Wheaten eggs and you can find him on the BYC Ameraucana thread. The people I have mentioned, besides Jeremy, are well known and respected breeders. You can find them on the ABC breeders directory website. Good luck

My four BLRW chicks went out to the chicken house brooder yesterday. I miss having them in the house where I can see them all the time

They are happy with the bigger space which makes me feel better

ETA: I'm having a lot of difficulty uploading and saving pics. When I post, this is what I get. I sent an admin a PM and they wanted me to start a thread on this so the "fix" is available to everyone who has this problem. If you can help, here's the link
