The Sizzle Thread!

I can tell you mine are Tomboy birds and ran around in the brush and woods and never got mats like the dogs do. They don't even get those little sticky plant things on them. They've never had a bath except when their coop flooded and then I just brought them in for tge night because it was so cold ans they were wet.

by sticky plant things, do you mean thistles?

I hatched six sizzles yesterday and noticed that one has 8 toes one has 9 toes and the other 4 have 10 toes. Does that mean some of them are silkies and frizzled silkies?

A sizzle has all silkie characteristics except silkie feathering. This includes multiple toes (5 per foot). It is a serious fault (disqualification) if they have an incorrect number of toes. A sizzle has frizzled, non-silkied feathers; a silkie has silkied, but not frizzled feathers; a frizzled silkie has silkied and frizzled feathers. Toe count has nothing to do with it.

There are three kinds here we call them beggar lice which are triangle and green or brown in color and devils forks that are brown and look like little forks. There is also sticky balls that are green. All are some type of weed seed. They wont stick in your skin just attach there selves to your clothes or pets fur. You never get just one when brushing against the plant there are always bunches of them.

Mine all get those burrs LOL brown velcro like balls that attach themselves all over them, I keep having to pull them off, and unfortunately they really get themselves in there and I pull feathers out as well =P

We call those chuckle burs if that's what I'm thinking of. They are larger and hurt if you step on them.
