here is a frizzled sizzle from the same hatch. I can't wait to see how the turn out.

Looks like a frizzled silkie to me. Very handsome!

Yours doesn't look like a smooth. This is an example of a smooth. This guy on the left, is silkie cochin cross, a smooth. The one on the right is pure silkie, from pure silkie hen and roo.


This one shows the frizzle on the left and my smooth on the right. They had the same parents, silkie hen with black frizzle cochin rooster. Brother and sister. The silkie above is purebred silkie though.
Yours looks a lot more silkie, absolutely gorgeous bird, but doesn't look like a smooth. If it's a frizzle silkie it's going to have awesome offspring. You have a stunningly beautiful bird there!

Actually the one on the left looks to be a sizzle not a frizzled silkie, which means its a frizzled silkie with the hard barbed feathers. A frizzled silkie is a silkie with the frizzling but has silkie feathers not the hard ones like your sizzle.
And your smooth is darn cute!

Oops! You're right! The one on the left, someone told me is called a frizzle sizzle. I never saw a frizzled silkie, but if yours is the frizzle silkie, that's one spectacular bird! These ones I have are only 1st generation. You have such a gorgeous bird! A splash frizzle silkie would be extremely rare I would think. I sure hope you can keep the line going on those!

Will make for some beautiful future chicks! Those are such desirable feathers.
