The Sizzle Thread!

I have a question regarding how to label the "generation" of your sizzles. I have a sizzle roo that is 15th or 16th(?) generation over my silkie girls. I have 6 sizzles growing out. Now I understand these are *MY* 1st generation sizzles but are they still considered "1st" generation like the offspring of a first cross between a silkie and frizzle would be? That's where I get confused.

No, your babies are adding to the generations not starting over. So yours are 16 or 17th. Hope that makes sense! :)

Wanted to share a pic of my first batch of sizzles I hatched from my sizzle roo (in my avatar) over my Silkie hens. They're growing out over a friends house while I had to move but I'm going to pick them up next weekend! Can't wait to see them in person. Out of 6 eggs I hatched 2 splash frizzled sizzles, 2 splash smooth, a blue smooth and a splash frizzled Silkie. My splash hen barely has any markings on her so I think that's why these guys are so light.

I hope so. My roo didn't have much splash marking on him but now that he's going thru his first molt he's getting some darker spots.

If you breed splash to splash the color will only get more diluted which might be why they are so light. They are super cute babies! You must be so exited to be getting them soon :)

Yea see and that's the problem, my sizzle roo is a splash and a majority of these eggs from my splash hens. The one smooth blue obviously came from my blue hen. I can't believe how big they got in the last month. I brought them to my friends house and they were still in the brooder. Now they're fully feathered and free ranging outside!

Love them! And hello fellow CT'er! I just hatched 5 frizzled sizzles. Photos tomorrow!

Here is Tiger Lily. I was actually taking a picture of Cinnabun (the buff silkie behind her), but she's a huge camera hog, so wanted to post her pretty little fluff.

I believe she is what is called an F1? Her mom was a frizzled ? (not sure of the breed, just know she was a bantam), and Dad was a silkie.
