I am really glad your mother was able to quit after so long. However, I just HAVE to point out one thing. It is necessarily true that smoking makes you and your home toxic. I do not ever smoke indoors. My house, car, and even my hair and clothes, do not smell. People do not even realize I am a smoker until they see me light one up and are generally quite shocked. I have a very sensitive sense of smell.....abnormal for a smoker and I think it is because I am never trapped with smoke. Sorry, just had to defend my lack of stench.

well today makes my 8th day without a cigarette . I got sick and could not smoke have not smoked one and I am not planning on picking one up. I tried the first day I got sick and it set my lungs on fire so I haven't done it since. did I mention the reason I couldn't is because of pneumonia and my lungs have not healed yet

Well I gave up in Jan. but started again so 2 days no smoking for me. I am using the commit lozenges and so far so good. If you try them get the cherry, they don't burn my mouth like the mint ones. I still really want one at night, but seem to be fine in the morning and afternoon. So hopefully I can do it this time.

Congrats!!! It's funny how not doing something can be so hard...
yep cherry is best. I still have one or two lozenges some days... sometimes I can go a week with out anything. But I would rather use them than pick up a cig.. I tried the capacino ones this last time

But when I run out I will go back to cherry

A good friend of mine is on welbutrin and has been smoke free for 3 weeks!! Another work friend quit about the same time and I have another that has changed brands and cut down to 12 a day! She's shooting to be rid by the end of the month! She is weening herself. I am now 15 months free used chantix. and another welbutrin friend is 6 months. I'm hoping that this gives everyone on here incentive...need to add that most of us smoked for 20+ years!! I know chantix was not covered by insurance but the welbutrin was only $4- at Wal-Mart with her insurance!! Good luck to those not using the pills, I tried the lozenges and gum and kept getting cankers and biting my cheek...it was aweful!! I felt it prolonged the habit of needing an oral fixation. I tried the patches but was allergic to the adhesive and broke out in severe rashes in a new spot everyday until I finally had not more arm left. Plus I need to add that I would take it off, have a cigarette and put it back on...Oh dear.....now i hear that's really bad...LOL:( AnywayI want to wish everyone GOOD LUCK!!
