According to wikipedia there are 2 books in the works. The White Princess (Elizabeth of York) and The Last Rose. The main character of that one is unknown, but they're thinking Mary I or Margaret, Queen of Scotland. Honestly, though, if you take the title literally, then I think it would mean Queen Elizabeth I as she was the last of the Tudor line (James I from Scotland came next). Who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

I have 2 books that I plan to read after the ones I have now. They are by Hilary Mantel and are about Henry VIII. They are Wolf Hall (time w/ 1st Catherine) and Bring Up the Bodies (time w/ Ann Boleyn) and both are considered good reads by the reviews. I hoping they are good and if they are I'm hoping the series will go through each of his wives.

Who is the Red Tent by?

Anita Diamant, Its about Dinah, from Genesis... She's Jacob's daughter, the one who's brothers took revenge on the whole town... I can't remember the name of the town now, but when the men of the town were circumcised, and lay weak with fever, her brother's came in and massacred all the men... Took her back, and she ran away... Very very good. It's also told in the first person.

Oh, and it is the BBC who is going to do the 10 part series... SO exciting! LOL.

Why would she do another book on Elizabeth of York...She already has The White Queen which is about her... OH MY GOD! TO MANY DANG ELIZABETHS! Elizabeths, Annes, Marys, Margarets... LOL, didn't the English name their daughters anything else!

GAH! Ok... The White Princess is the White Queens Daughter! Daughter of Elizabeth Woodville, (daughter of the Lady of the Rivers)... Mother of Henry VIII, wife to Henry VII, daughter of Edward IV (II?) and Elizabeth Woodville... She was "WON" when Henry VII returned from France, kicked her dads butt and won the throne of England... OH.... KAY... LOL.

Dude... This woman aught to have these things in order! LOL, SO, now I will have another book to add to my list.

No. The White Queen is about her mother, Elizabeth Grey (Woodville) who married Edward IV. Jaquetta from the Lady of the Rivers is her mother and Elizabeth of York's grandmother.

The English named their kids whatever they wanted back then. Even daughters carried their mom's names. For instance, Jaquetta even had a daughter named Jaquetta. LOL. And then try keeping all the Henry and Richards apart. It was like this is my grandfather Henry and my uncle Henry and his son Henry and my other uncle's son Henry etc etc. That's why I said it can be a bit confusing when you read her books out of order. LOL

Yay BBC! If they're doing it then you know it's going to be done right. Love the BBC programs.

Oops! Saw you posted while I was making mine. Only one difference. Henry VII actually kicked Elizabeth of York's Uncle Richard's butt. Edward IV was already deceased at that time and his brother Richard gained control of his sons who wound up disappearing forever (hmmm) and he was king when Henry sailed back to claim the throne.

Gah! I'm finally getting into a conversation on a subject I love to talk about and DH is going bonkers at me to get off the computer. Grrr. Well, have a good night then.

LOL, You know, when I saw the Other Boleyn girl, I was so bummed... It was a good movie, but it was just NOT in line with the book. SO, that makes me happy that BBC is going to do it and not a big consumer driven production company. LOL. The book was just so good.

It is confusing! I was just reading the synapsis of the White Princess since it is not on my book list.. I HAD to KNOW! LOL. Anyway, LOL, I can't wait to go and add that one to my book list... OH wait... is it out yet? No, I think you said in the works...

Gracious, I have to go and clean up the a water mes... BAD BAD KIDS!
