Hi!

I saw the subject line, and knew this was the thread for me! I'm a newbie to chickens (Only had 'em since March), but I'm thoroughly addicted. My 4 year old daughter and I are completely ga-ga for our "chickie doodles!" Every night, after I read her a few books, I turn off the light and tell her a "Chickie Story." Ah, the adventures my chickens have had at bedtime! I took her to the fair yesterday, and I could hardly get her out of the chicken barn.

Anyway, if there's room for one more chicken lunatic, I'm your woman!

p.s. I even sing to them. My neighbors must think I've completely lost it...

Hi Nikki; It's nice to find you here.

I've got everyone trained to go to bed early - ha. But then I have to get up early so it's a trade off. The goats start baaaaaaaaaaaing about 6 and want OUT of the barn. And then the chicks take it up and it's a chorus one can't ignore - LOL!

What kind of goats do you have ? I have one young beautiful Pygmy female but she is leaving soon. I don't care too much for goats. This one I bought for my granddaughter but her mother decided to leave my son and take her and as things are right now we aren't allowed to see her. So the goat is going to leave. I raise sheep and it has been my experience in the past that goats are not good with sheep. They chase them away from the grain and bunt them so the goat has to go.

Oh, I love our goats. We have three pygmys and a nigerian dwarf. Three wethers and a pregnant (we think) female. They are so funny and very tame. This morning they were all out jumping and bucking and playing king of the mountain on their toys. I don't think you can have one goat very successfully. They are herd animals and have psychological problems if alone. I'll post pics as soon as I can figure how to get them from the phone to my email - ha. I'm sorry you can't see your granddaughter - that's got to be really hard.
