Well atm Not letting the jungle fowl free range in the backyard. Wife is concerned they gonna fly over the fence and not come back.But yes the hope was they could all "coop together" over the winter. was gonna put a heat lamp inside the coop just in case. Coop is about 5ft tall inside so if slung from the very top shouldnt be a bother eh?

Better have a back up power source for the heat lamp. If you have a power outage, you'll shock the birds. A small generator in a box to keep it dry and accessible. Then yeah, start the intros soon.

I wait 16 weeks, but by then I'm just sick of them causing a racket and being penned up, so I let them free-range with the big girls. I wait so long mostly because I've got a lot of big girls that are really mean too. I would wait a little longer, but you could take them out there in a wire cage and see what happens......Then if you do let them out, keep an eye on them for a while.

I had never heard of RJF til you mentioned it Dwkuska. I looked it up, it looks like my serama Pretty Boy. I put all birds in for trial periods once they are feathered out. Pretty Boy is very, very tiny but he's in charge out there lol
