I bought some honeycrisp apples the other day... They were HUGE! I could only eat half at a time!
They are my favorite! Too bad they are 3 something a pound! $3 an apple almost... I think NOT! So they were my little splurg this week.

Yeah, I made extra from this batch so i'd have enough to eat lol. I got sick of making it all the time for my bro, and apples needed to be used (good harvest this year), so now he can just have it whenever he wants, and at least made a dent in the bags and bags and boxes of apples........

Dang, I wish you lived closer I'd take loads of those apples off your hands. We want to make cider but the neighbor's apple trees are long gone and I I'm not about to buy any anywhere nearby. I wanted to buy a few apple trees this year but couldn't find any I could afford.
.

I was really excited about cider this year but they're actually pretty dry. :(. Just didn't get enough rain I guess...... and my dad doesn't want to haul over the 500 lb. old-fashioned (really really old fashioned lol) press......

There's nothing better than some homemade cider though......

There were 5 full grown trees on the property when we bought it, plus 4 pear (really bad year for them), and two cherry. One of the cherries is a queen Anne's and boy were those good this spring! :drool

I (and the chickens) love the fresh fruit though, at least when it's a good year....

I LOVE honeycrisps!!!!!! They're so tasty! Out apples are actually really big this year too, about honey crisp size, which is weird because they're usually pretty small...:/

We went to an old festival that has a ton of antiques and old fashioned things in it every year. My favorite parts are the antique farming tools and steam tractors. I took 288 photos including 8 videos. I say every year I'd love to have an old fashioned press! I'd be happy with a small one!
