Hi guys! My names Peep! I'm just a baby chick roughly around a week or so old. I love my mommy the most and I'm the first one to run to her when I hear her voice or see her hand in the brooder. I love to play with my brothers and sisters, run around and drink water and eat my food. I act completely healthy and happy. But this is my mommy's first time raising baby chicks and she is worried about this spot on my back, when she was petting me today she noticed a few more spots similar. It was hard to get a picture

of the other spots because I wanted to move around. She thinks it might be my feathers coming in but shes not really sure and would like help figuring out what it is to be safe rather than sorry!

It does look like feathers coming in. Make sure you are feeding a good starter grower to help them grow.

Tractor supply carries some good feeds, so pick what fits you and your birds.

Generally chicks should have nothing else for the first 2 months or so to make sure they don't develop deficiencies.

I personally add in some scrambled eggs as a treat which helps mine to feather quicker. The downside is their poops can become looser and more smelly. I brood my chicks out in a shed so it isn't a problem for me.
