The rooster just looked at her with confusion with his brown eyes.
The rooster was handsome with his feathered feet.

She looked at Thoran. "What should we do. We're almost across and I don't have the heart to throw that rooster to that thing." The tiger looked at the rooster and shook his head. Then said, " We better save it then." Fairfax nodded then went and scooped the rooster up in her arms.

That's when they felt the strongest bump from below. It almost knocked her over, if Thoran hadn't been there. Fairfax looked down and saw the large shape slip back away from the surface. "We better go now! It's getting closer and bolder every time." They were about across when the rooster started to change into a....

The surface of the lake started to crack in a million fractures. Fairfax looked at Thoran. "Tricks! Always tricks!" At least they now knew what was down there. Thoran looked down because his feet were getting wet. His weight was causing the water to leach up though the hairline cracks. Fairfax yelled at him, "Come on, move it!" Snapping out of his thoughts, he started moving the last few feet.
