The story that never ends.

he didn't look happy. I walked up to him concerned. "What's wrong Thoran?" The massive tiger lifted it's head to look me in the eyes. That's when I noticed they had tears in them. My heart sank. I knew what he was crying about. Polly was weakening, she didn't have long. "How much longer does she have?" Fairfax asked Thoran. "That is where I went to, I felt a draw on my power. So I returned to check on her." Thoran said solemnly. He fell silent for a long time. When he finally found his voice and said,"...

Fairfax got angry at Thoran, " What do you think I have been doing. I'm doing my best! But somehow it seems that the odds are stacked against me. Such simple tasks, take on epic proportions. So how am I to help her, when there always seems obstacle is there to blocks my path?" Fairfax raged at him.

Thoran said calmly, ''I'll do what I can. But for now, I'll summon help.'' Fairfax did not know what he meant until she looked to the sky.

As a giant golden eagle flew down to land a short distance away from them. She looked in awe at it. Then turned back to Thoran in question. "This is Jago, he is also a spirit guardian, who has chosen to help you, Fairfax." Thoran explained to her.

"Hi I'm Jago I'm here to help you but we must hurry hop on we will fly," Fairfax didn't waste anytime she jumped on Jago's back and gave directions then off they flew. Fairfax was relieved that there would be less obstacles since they up in the air until they heard......

A pelgrane cry out. It swooped at them but missed. Jago and Fairfax dove down at the ground, but the pelgrane...

(You probably don't know what a pelgrane is. It's like a giant human eating eagle.)

..was close behind. "Fairfax you must hide, for he's after you. I'll fight him off the best I can. Now go!" Jago then, leaped up into the air and clashed claws with the pelgrane. Fairfax stood there momentary frozen, from the pure power of the two giant birds. But she called herself to task and hid under some thick undergrowth. Jago held on to the other birds claws and as it did, to his. While both sets of wings, were beating the others, in order to stay in flight. But the heads and sharp beaks were lashing out at each other, like vipers try to hit it's mark. But the bloodcurdling screeches was the worst. Fairfax had to cover her ears, they were so loud. Then came the point she couldn't watch anymore. She curled up into a tight ball and cried silently for Polly. She didn't think she was going to be able to save her.

Suddenly Thoran came up behind her and spoke. ''Jump on my back. I'll bring you further up the mountain until Jago is well.''

Fairfax turned around startled. But recovered when she saw Thoran. She couldn't help herself, she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him. She sobbed into his furred neck, "Thank you, Oh! Thank you, Thoran." She then climbed onto his back and hung on. Thoran started sprinting up the mountain, as fast as he could.
