the sultan thread

I think some beaks need trimming cluck-cluck XD

Not sultans, but I hatched 6 d'Anvers over the weekend and I am in LOVE.

Love these ones

This one has been dubbed Hedwig because it looks like an owlet :D

I think it was only 3 weeks ago that I trimmed beaks and nails! They grow so freakishly fast!

OK Jharper, I'm now fully embarrassed at the state of my birds. Tomorrow will be clean-up day, everyone gets a spa treatment, LOL

Your chicks are so adorable, hokankai!

CLUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soooo cute!!! I love your Sultans. I think they are just awesome! they're not that dirty. Looks like they have had fun that's all. My white Cochins get that bad too, but they clean up, I know they were all having a good time so that's all that matters right? If it makes you feel any better, here's Princess when she was young having a ball in the rain and the peat moss dust box.

Hok, I love your new babies!!! they just make your heart melt.

Awwww, that's so cute! What lovely grass! I'm so lucky my mother and sister have grass, we don't, LOL, and they give it to me to feed the chickens!

It's those beaks and nails though, I can't believe how long they are again! I didn't notice until hokankai said something. I wasn't looking, but sure enough, 3 weeks later, and WOW! Ugh, no time today to do it either....

Everyone got watermelon a few days ago and Raja's crest still hasn't recovered. :p It's got a nice dirt dusting pasted on from watermelon juice! I'd wash her but she is still so squirrelly and silly I don't want to have her panic and have a birdy meltdown. I've been watering their grassy enclosure in hopes that cruising beneath the damp overgrowth with clean it up a little. ;) Worked for my buff silkie who had a very nice watermelon beard!

LOL, that's cute. Well, the funny thing is, I'll bet if you give her a warm bath, she'll love it, and the blow dry even more! They almost go to sleep! It actually might be a good way to get a skitzy bird to calm down in your presence?
