the sultan thread

What awesome little chickens. Mine turn 3 weeks old tomorrow. I'm praying both of them turn out hens. I can't have roosters in my neighborhood :( One of my sultans is very goofy, they keeps me entertained that's for sure :)

Do you have any pictures of them?

Almost 5 weeks. Any guess on being a roo or hen? It's the same chick in both pictures. They are growing up fast!

Still a little early, I'd say wait 3 more weeks :).

In the meantime, I have a broody sitting on 8 sultan eggs! Woot :D

Hi all,
I'm very new to this board and am not entirely sure I'm posting in the right place. I went back quite a few pages of this thread looking for breeder info, and also looked at that Sultan Facebook page to see if I could find any info there, but had no luck.
We are in CO and early this week received a delivery of our first ever chicks/chickens from MPC. One of the birds was a White Sultan and very very sadly, she didn't make it past the first day. She was really weak upon arrival and it broke my heart that she died as I had already fallen in love with her. My son, similarly, was beyond heart broken as this was the breed he was most excited about. I would REALLY love to find another, and I have been looking everywhere, and it seems to be almost impossible. MPC is sold out, and everywhere else I look who might have them is either sold out or has things like 25 bird minimums and we really only have room for one more chicken.
So - any ideas on how to find one? They are gorgeous and we would so love one. I have no problem with purchasing an older bird too.
I'd love your input and help!
Thanks!

If you want to try hatching them out I will be selling some hatching eggs from my trio after next month :)

I caution you in buying a older bird. It may just be mine, but my Sultan roo so use to be very sweet and liked bring picked up has now taken to flogging us.

Ideal poultry has sultan bantams. They don't have a minimum order but they send extra male chicks in the box to keep the chicks warm. Their shipping is very cheap compared to other companies.
