the sultan thread

Does anyone know a good place for me to rehome some Sultan cockerels? My 15 year old hatched out 7 out of 8 sultan eggs in October and 6 of them turned out to be cockerels. They are such a rare and special breed I want to match them to someone that will appreciate them, but I just can't have that many roos...

Any ideas?

Theres a group on Facebook called "Rare Chicken Breeds Sell/Swap" where you could list them for free or sale. People there are from all over and there may be someone local to you that would love to have them. If I were closer, I would definitely be interested myself.

Does any one know were I can get some sultan eggs to hatch. I have done some research and I would love to start a flock of these beautiful birds. I really don't want hatchery birds. I look at them the same as puppy mills. I have a bator and some cochin hens that could work. I'm kinda wanting to get them for my nephew to show. Thank you for any help

Anyone else have or had a sultan that has random black feathers that grow? One of my 4 month old sultans has 3 black feathers that randomly grew in. Other than the 3 random black feathers he/she is pure white.

Where are they located? Could be indicators of the silver gene, which is great!
