You don't say how old your SS is, but here are some pictures of mine that might help you:
This is my Speckled Sussex cockerel, Lincoln, at three and a half weeks. His comb is already red/pink and he's developing wattles. However, he has virtually no tail feathers and less body feathers than the rest of our chicks.

You can see Lincoln in the center, at 5 weeks old, has a completely red comb and wattles. The black and white Ancona directly behind him is also a cockerel, the rest are pullets of different breeds. They have either no combs, or very small yellow ones. Also, none of them have wattles yet.

Here's Lincoln at almost three months old. He's just now starting to get some tail feathers. They curl straight up and are greenish-black with white tips. His comb and wattles are getting larger and redder. He is a real sweetie - my favorite out of all the babies! He loves to be held and falls asleep in my arms.
