The Sussex thread!

I had a pretty exciting evening last night. I got my Coronation Sussex breeding coop set up. I can't wait to have me some babies!

That is exciting..where are you getting babie/eggs from? The link I just posted, the guy called me from California to answer questions that I had asked when I posted him how many I had hatch, and some pics of the babies. I was so surprised. Never had anyone call me back to answer questions! Anyway, he also has the Coronation chicken..maybe he has some eggs? Or do you have some in the bator now? lol... Just a thought.

Here's the site I got the cinnamon sussex eggs from...I think I noticed he was selling again, but not sure on the coronation..https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...rtile-chicken-hatching-eggs-shipping-is-extra

I have a pair that I separated from my other chickens. I will use their eggs to hatch.

Speckled Sussex are one of my faves!

I have 1- 3 1/2 week old Speckled Sussex chick (our bator hatching didn't turn out too well) & I've never had Sussex before. Does anyone have pictures of chicks that age that I could look at? At what age can you tell what sex a Sussex is? I only have American Games & Bantams to compare with. :idunno Thanks for any help :)
