This is Slobber... Named for the day she arrived, my Golden Ret grabbed her and ran. She dropper her and she was covered by slobber... Thus.. slobber. 7 weeks old.

Thanks, I am having a horrid time sexing this breed. Mine even fooled a long time friend who has chickens for ever.
When I first posted pictures of my tic tac, someone said if the speckled sussex did not have lot of white around their necks and head then they were likely to be males. The one pictured here seems to be much redder in the face than mine were at 7 weeks. I have a 3 month old speckled sussex in the yard right now that doesn't have that much red on her comb / wattle.

What a fabulous breed the Sussex are. My silvers have just laid their first egg about a week ago. I have some Splits hatching early next week. They are a curious breed, very nosey. They are by far, the most beautiful too, their coloring is amazing. Here are some pics of my babies

Here's Susy my 17 week old Speckled Sussex. Out of two dozen chickens of various breeds, she the one who always volunteers to come to the garden with me. She always looks so busy and important foraging. In the pics she ranges from 14 - 17 weeks.
