The Sussex thread!

I love that about the sussex! Mine are constantly underfoot or examining my hands and scolding me when I don't have treats. Even the less friendly ones would join in.

I have only one Coronation Sussex about 3 mo old. She is in with 2 Sapphire pullets (blue egg layer) and 4 large white plymouth rock pullets and a cockerel. They are close to 6 mo old. Can you believe they never make any noise. None of them. No cheeping. Of course they haven't started laying yet. That might really make a change. The cockerel is a teen. at 6 mo

Pictures of Lucky. She is 11 days old She is feathering out as a SS on the wings. But her head/face is really red so I suspect those feathers will come in more of a redish color. Lucky is a Speckled Sussex/ Red Sex link

Very very nice. I have one lone coronation sussex pullet. She's a cutie.

I happened to see an ad for sussex over the weekend and Monday we picked up these beauties. Today I got my first sussex egg!

Seeing these new hens is a good indication of how young my pullets really are. I'm sure we're still months away from eggs from them.

My speckled is a dreamboat. Seems to be standard throughout the breed.
