The Sussex thread!

Pics
From 7 Speckled Sussex eggs, I had just 3 hatch, but I love these chicks! They are already some of the friendliest chicks in the brooder.
They're from the Easter Hatch, so they will be four weeks old tomorrow, but I took their pictures last Saturday at three weeks. I just want to share them because they are adorable. I know Sussexes are notoriously hard to sex, but it would be fun to hear everyone's guesses!

Here's the runt. We had to pull him out of his egg, but he is the second boldest of the whole brood!

And the other two...

For all I know, they might all be roos, but they are sweet little chickens! I think I need more Speckled Sussexes...

That looks like a pullet to me. But I'm new at this...

I have a picture of our sussex chicks on my BYC page. I'm thinking the one on the right is a roo, anyone else care to guess?

Looks kind of like my girls did when they were about 1 month old. I just put all my speckled sussexes in with my Jersey Giants and my 3 Langshan hens. They are good at hiding and dodging and so they are doing just fine. I just hope they are smart enough to run into or under the coop when the storm arrives. I've also got 10 speckled pullets (I hope) growing up in the garage right now. They are so sweet. One of my speckled boys has been throwing his first crows this week. He's doing pretty good!
