So my will power is not what i wish it was... I had orriginally wanted speckeled sussex as one of my dual purpose breeds, but when i couldnt find them this spring, i decided to put it off till next year or so... or so i thought! I was at a buy sell trade this weekend and low and behold 7 sussex chicks came home with me... i need help haha.
As chicks often do at these things, they looked a bit miserable, it was a crappy day so i didnt judge them too harshly, but now that i've got them home and put them next to a buff orp chick who is around a week and a half old, im a bit concerned...

The guy wasn't quite sure how old the chicks were, but guessed 2-3 weeks. their wings are in so are their tails(all of them) they look more mature then the buffs, yet... they are lighter, bonier and about the same visual size... I'm guessing they didnt have the best care. will they recover from this or will they likely always be smaller then they had the potential to be? They have gained much energy now that they have settled in. when i first got them home however they were not impressed and very unhappy.

I noticed some have alot of white, others not so much, and some are mostly shades of brown, is that common? I hope to be able to keep a trio of them once they are grown up and i can asses their quality more.
Thanks
