Hi,
I am working on a project. I need some input, please. Color doesn't matter, neither does strain.
Only weight is a factor. Yes & No answers are fine. Those of you with hens (not pullets) over
7 pounds, how many eggs are you getting as a general rule:
1. per bird for a week?
2. Per bird for a month?
3. As a general rule, is the laying per bird continoius or does it come in sparadic intervals
during laying season?
Thanks so much!![]()

I had 3 hens over 7 lbs, now just one. All 3 laid at a nice consistent basis of about 6 eggs per week, however, broodiness is a serious variable that stopped laying a lot, and broke it into segments. Same goes for molting. My girls love to go broody, and they love to molt after broodiness too, so aside from that they're good layers but put that into place and they're poor layers.
